Hamas holds entire population of Gaza hostage – German Foreign Minister
During her visit to Israel, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has assured her Israeli counterpart Eli Cohen of the solidarity on the part of the German government and people.

Details: During the visit, Baerbock visited relatives of German citizens who were reportedly kidnapped and taken to the Gaza Strip by militants of the Islamist group Hamas during the attack on Israel.
The official said Hamas has "taken the entire population" of Gaza hostage, where Israel is planning a large-scale ground military operation.
"Hamas is now barricading itself behind more innocent people and is using them as a shield in Gaza. Their tunnels, their weapons depots and command centres are deliberately located in residential buildings, supermarkets and universities. Maybe even in hospitals," Baerbock said.
Background: Earlier, German politicians sharply criticised the demonstrations in Berlin, whose participants rejoiced at the attack by Hamas terrorists on Israel, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced a ban on supporting the activities of the Hamas terrorist organisation in the country.
