Ukrainian defenders hold back Russian assaults near Avdiivka, 55 combat clashes in 24 hours – General Staff
During the day, 55 combat clashes took place on the contact line. The Ukrainian defenders repelled seven Russian attacks near Avdiivka and seven more near four settlements in Donetsk Oblast, and the Russians tried in vain to regain their lost positions near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Details: It is reported that the operational situation in the east and south of Ukraine remains difficult.
On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, the operational situation remains without significant changes. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups. Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.
On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, the Russians maintain a military presence in the border areas, continue attacking settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, and increase the density of mine-explosive barriers along the state border of Ukraine. They carried out airstrikes near Popivka and Seredyna Buda, Sumy Oblast. About 20 settlements, including Bleshnia and Buchky (Chernihiv Oblast); Mefedivka, Seredyna-Buda, Fotovyzh, Chuikivka and Stepok (Sumy Oblast); and Hatyshche, Vovchansk and Veterynarne (Kharkiv Oblast), were hit by Russian artillery and mortar fire.
On the Kupiansk front, Ukrainian soldiers repelled four Russian attacks near Synkivka and eight attacks near Ivanivka in Kharkiv Oblast. More than 15 settlements, in particular Kamianka, Dvorichna, Ivanivka and Synkivka (Kharkiv Oblast), were subjected to Russian artillery and mortar fire.
On the Lyman front, the Russians carried out airstrikes near Nevske, Bilohorivka, Novoliubivka and Serebrianske Forest (Luhansk Oblast) and Spirne, Vesele and Siversk (Donetsk Oblast). The Defence Forces repelled four Russian attacks near Makiivka in Luhansk Oblast and near Serebrianske Forest in Donetsk Oblast. More than 10 settlements were affected by artillery and mortar attacks; among them are Nevske and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast) and Spirne, Rozdolivka and Verkhniokamianske (Donetsk Oblast).
On the Bakhmut front, the Russians carried out airstrikes near Klishchiivka and Andriivka in Donetsk Oblast. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire, in particular Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Chasiv Yar (Donetsk Oblast).
On the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian defenders are bravely holding the line; they repulsed seven Russian attacks near Avdiivka and another seven attacks near Lastochkyne, Tonenke, Pervomaiske and Nevelske (Donetsk Oblast). The Russians carried out airstrikes in the areas of settlements of Novokalynove, Keramik, Stepove and Avdiivka (Donetsk Oblast). About 10 of the settlements, including Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka and Pervomaiske (Donetsk Oblast), were hit by Russian artillery and mortar attacks.
On the Marinka front, during the day, the Defence Forces successfully repelled about 10 Russian attacks near Marinka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk Oblast). About 10 settlements were under Russian artillery and mortar fire, in particular Heorhiivka, Marinka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka and Katerynivka (Donetsk Oblast).
On the Shakhtarsk front, the Russians carried out airstrikes near Novomykhailivka and Staromayorske (Donetsk Oblast). About 10 settlements, including Vodiane, Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva and Urozhaine (Donetsk Oblast), were hit by artillery and mortar attacks.
On the Zaporizhzhia front, the Russians unsuccessfully tried to regain the lost ground near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. The Russians launched an airstrike near Novodanylivka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. About 20 settlements, in particular Malynivka, Orikhiv, Novoandriivka, Piatykhatky and Stepove (Zaporizhzhia Oblast), were subjected to artillery and mortar shelling.
On the Kherson front, Antonivka, Kherson and Bilozerka (Kherson Oblast) and Ochakiv in Mykolaiv Oblast were subjected to Russian artillery and mortar attacks.
At the same time, the Defence Forces of Ukraine continue offensive operations on the Melitopol front and offensive (assault) actions on the Bakhmut front, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian troops and exhausting the Russians along the entire contact line.
During the day, the aviation of the Defence Forces carried out 12 strikes on the areas where personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated and two more on the Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.
Units of the Rocket Forces hit the command post and nine artillery pieces belonging to the Russians.
