Details: Russian troops conducted offensive operations in the area of Kupiansk, Kreminna, Bakhmut, on the Avdiivka-Donetsk line and in the border area of Donetsk-Zaporizhzhia oblasts and advanced slightly on the Avdiivka-Donetsk line.
In addition, geolocation footage published on 27 September shows that Russian troops made little progress west of Marinka (on the southwestern outskirts of Donetsk). The General Staff of Ukraine reported that Russian troops launched unsuccessful attacks east of Stepove (8 kilometres northwest of Avdiivka), southwest of Avdiivka, as well as near Novoselivka (17 kilometres northeast of Avdiivka), Tonenke (7 kilometres northwest of Avdiivka), Marinka and Novomykhailivka (10 kilometres southwest of Donetsk).
The General Staff of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian troops continued offensive operations on the Melitopol front (west of Zaporizhzhia Oblast) and near Bakhmut.
The Russians claim that Ukrainian troops carried out unsuccessful ground attacks near Klischiivka (7 kilometres south-west of Bakhmut), Andriivka (10 kilometres south-west of Bakhmut), Robotyne (10 kilometres south of Orikhiv), Novoprokopivka (13 kilometres south of Orikhiv) and Verbove (18 kilometres south-east of Orikhiv).
The ISW reports that a Russian military blogger associated with the Airborne Forces directly refuted the 24 September claims that Ukrainian troops occupied half of Verbove. On 29 September, he stated that units of the 7th Guards Division of the Airborne Forces still hold Verbove, despite heavy losses.
