National Agency on Corruption Prevention opens access to Register of Corrupt Officials, but some data classified
The National Agency on Corruption Prevention has restored access to the Unified State Register of persons who have committed acts of corruption or corruption-related offences but has considered "security aspects".

Details: Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, state authorities have restricted access to a number of registers, including the Unified State Register of persons who have committed corruption or corruption-related offences. They took into account the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "some issues of ensuring the functioning of information and communication systems, electronic communication systems, public electronic registers under martial law" dated 12.03.2022 No. 263.
At the same time, there is a significant public interest in opening the data of this registry.
The lack of access to such information significantly complicates the activities of state bodies and other organisations, mainly when appointing applicants for relevant positions, conducting public procurement and other transactions, etc., the National Agency on Corruption Prevention states.
The Register of Corrupt Officials is a portal containing information about all individuals and legal entities that have committed corruption offences. Here, you can get a certificate of the presence or absence of information about yourself and the legal entity to which measures have been applied for a corruption offence.
Oleksandr Novikov, the head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention, states that "open data is a powerful tool for integrity, and therefore, anti-corruption practices."
He added that the opening of data of the Register of persons who have committed corruption and corruption-related offences indicates that, taking into account security aspects, data from the Register of Declarations can also be opened.
The National Agency on Corruption Prevention is waiting for the Parliament to adopt draft law No. 9534, which restores the digital asset declaration of officials suspended due to the introduction of martial law. It should regulate public access to the Register of Declarations.
