Quote: "Photographer and hero Volodymyr Myroniuk has been killed on the contact line near Kurdiumivka with a camera in his hands, with footage of his last, most risky report...
Thousands knew him by the alias ‘John’ on the battlefield. He will now forever be 59 years old.
And it is very difficult to describe his personality. A Ukrainian and US citizen, he worked in America for many years as a truck driver. He came to live in Ukraine for a long time when the Maidan began."
Details: Butusov said that "Volodymyr Myroniuk made his last report on a position of the Ukrainian infantry which was attacked by the enemy and subjected to hurricane bombardment for many hours".
Quote: "Volodymyr Myroniuk’s archive contains unique footage of Ukrainian heroes and wonderful portraits. There is also unique footage of the report he was shooting during which he was killed.
Friends of ‘John’ are asking for help in finding a place in Kyiv which will help mount a photo exhibition of Volodymyr Myroniuk with his frontline photos. If anyone is interested, please respond, and I will contact you. These are images of our history that help preserve the memory of the feat of Ukrainians forever."
