Two Ukrainian air assault brigades get new insignias

The Ukrainian Defence Ministry has approved new sleeve badges for Ukrainian air assault troops of the 71st Separate Jaeger Brigade and 82nd Separate Brigade.

Details: The new sleeve badge designed for the defenders of the 71st Separate Jaeger Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces is a heraldic shield with a steeply sloping red (maroon) and dark green colour.

The central element is a walking Simargl [an East Slavic god often depicted as a winged dog – ed.] in a red field holding a flaming sword pointed downwards. The specifics of the military unit's activity are emphasised by a silver huntsman's horn in combination with dark green.

The insignia on the sleeve of the soldiers of the 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade depicts a silver armed falcon in a maroon field. The sleeve badge for the ceremonial uniform has the form of a red heraldic shield with a silver border.
