The Russian Federation carried out another attack on Ukraine with air-to-surface cruise missiles and Shahed-136/131 loitering munitions yesterday. Ukrainian air defence brought down all 17 cruise missiles and 18 of the Russian-launched 24 Shaheds. Unfortunately, these acts of terrorism by the Kremlin resulted in civilian casualties, destroyed residential buildings and damaged civilian infrastructure.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces are pursuing defence in Ukraine’s east and south, offensive operations on the Melitopol front and offensive action on the Bakhmut front, crushing the Russians, liberating the temporarily occupied territories step by step, and consolidating their positions.

A total of 35 combat engagements occurred over the past 24 hours. The Russians launched 22 missile strikes and 57 air strikes and fired on Ukrainian positions and populated areas 55 times using multiple-launch rocket systems.

The Russian airstrikes targeted Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts.

Russian artillery fire affected over 70 settlements in Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson oblasts.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, the Russian army retains a grouping of troops to cover their state border. They are actively conducting sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian forces to vulnerable areas and are increasing the density of minefields along the state border in Russia's Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group on the Bakhmut front, Ukrainian Defence Forces successfully repelled Russian attacks near Klishchiivka in Donetsk Oblast. The Russians attempted to regain their lost ground near Andriivka, Donetsk Oblast but failed. The Ukrainian army continues its assault operations in the area south of the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian forces and consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavriia Operational Strategic Group on the Marinka front, Russian troops launched an unsuccessful offensive in and around the city of Marinka in Donetsk Oblast. They have carried out over 10 unsuccessful attempts to force Ukrainian units out of their positions over the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, on the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk fronts, the Ukrainian Defence Forces are holding the initiative, pressuring the Russians and gradually regaining Ukrainian land.

On the Melitopol front, the Russians launched unsuccessful offensive actions near the settlement of Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, trying to regain lost ground. The Ukrainian forces continue to hold the line, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the Russian occupying army and exhausting them.

In the area of responsibility of the Odesa Operational Strategic Group on the Kherson front, Ukrainian defenders continue to wage counter-battery combat, destroying supply depots and successfully hitting the Russian rear.

The Kremlin persists in sending military personnel from constituent entities of the Russian Federation to the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Around 100 conscripts from the Kabardino-Balkar Republic of the Russian Federation arrived in the temporarily occupied city of Dzhankoi, Russian-occupied Crimea, on 15 September this year to reinforce the security and defence of the local military airfield.

Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Air Force have delivered 9 strikes on clusters of Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment.

Units from Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery struck 2 clusters of Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment, 3 anti-aircraft missile systems, 19 artillery pieces, and 1 Russian command post.
