Details: According to ANSA, the next meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council will most likely be held in Kyiv "at the beginning of October".
The goal of the meeting, as stated by the sources, will be to continue the "political integration" of Ukraine and to demonstrate the EU’s support for Ukraine at this critical stage of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Brussels also wants to take stock of some important matters, such as the increase of military aid for Ukraine and the further strengthening of sanctions, especially with regard to Russia’s attempts to evade them in the hi-tech sector.
Background: In February 2023, in parallel with the Ukraine-EU summit in Kyiv, a joint offsite meeting between European commissioners and the Ukrainian government was held for the first time in history.
