"The rest of the remnants are those who do not want to be taken either to the new private military company or to the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation," the message says.
This data is confirmed by sources of Ukrainska Pravda in Ukrainian military units familiar with the situation in Belarus.
Background:
- After the death of the Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin in a plane crash on 23 August, the military camp of the Wagner Private Military Group was being actively dismantled in the village of Tseľ near Asipovichy in Belarus – a Planet Labs’ satellite image confirms this.
- Ukrainian border guards and intelligence confirmed that they observed the outflow of Russian mercenaries from the territory of Belarus.
- It became known in September that members of the Wagner Group PMC in Belarus had been offered to join the GardService Private Military Company, established by Alexander Lukashenko, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus.
- Apart from that, it became known that the Rosgvardiya (Russian National Guard) is recruiting former convicts previously belonging to the Wagner Private Military Company to subdue the remnants of the Wagnerites and simultaneously take care of Russia's internal security.
