Russians lost best units on Bakhmut front but continue assault – Commander of Ukraine's Ground Forces
Some of the best and most well-trained units of the Russian army have been defeated and lost combat effectiveness on the Bakhmut front. Nevertheless, the Russians do not give up their attempts to take back the positions they have lost.

Details: Syrskyi stated that in general, the situation remains complicated on the Eastern front. The Russians keep trying to resume offensive actions on the Kupiansk and Lyman fronts and are actively preparing for them.
Heavy fighting is ongoing near the city of Bakhmut. After the Russians lost control over the settlements of Andriivka and Klishchiivka last week, they have been conducting numerous counterattacks from different fronts, trying to take back the positions they lost but to no avail.
In reality, these seemingly small settlements were important elements of the defence line of the Russians, which lies through Bakhmut to the settlement of Horlivka.
As a result of successful actions by the Ukrainian forces, the line of defence, which the Russians were trying to close by deploying all the reserves they had, was breached, Syrskyi reported.
Specifically, some of the best and most well-trained units of the Russian army have been defeated and lost combat effectiveness on the Bakhmut front: among them are the 72nd Separate Motorised Rifle Brigade, the 31st and the 83rd separate air assault brigades.
