Ukrainian rescue worker runs 100 km marathon to show scale of Russian attacks on Kyiv
Volodymyr Skovorodka, a Ukrainian rescue worker, is running a 100 kilometre marathon through Kyiv. The goal is to show the scale of Russian missile attacks on the Ukrainian capital to the world, as reported by Suspilne.
Volodymyr is running the marathon in a firefighter uniform. The route lies through the city streets, the outskirts and downtown.
The route passes through the places struck by Russian missiles.
As of 15:00 on 17 September, Volodymyr has run 35 kilometres.
"This marathon is dedicated to our fallen colleagues-rescue workers and civilians who fell victim to Russian attacks," the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) added.
As planned, a fundraiser for the SES was held during this event.
Volodymyr’s colleagues and Ukrainian stars joined him in some segments of the marathon.
