Ukraine's national football team loses to Italy in Euro-2024 qualifiers
The Ukrainian national football team suffered its second defeat in the Euro-2024 qualifiers, losing to their Italian opponents in Milan with a score of 1:2.

Details: In the first qualifying matches in September, both teams finished with one point: Ukraine did not get an advantage over England (1:1), while Italy did not outpace North Macedonia (1:1).
In a head-to-head match, teams determined who would finish the month with a second place in Group C.
In Milan, the coaching staff of Serhii Rebrov could not count on defender Mykola Matvienko.
Having played half time against the English team in Wroclaw, the Shakhtar footballer remained out of the match due to chronic damage to his Achilles tendon. Having lost in Milan, the Ukrainians let Italians move ahead in the standings.
Three teams of group C, – Italy, Ukraine and North Macedonia, – formed parity on points.
The next qualifying match Ukraine will play on 14 October against North Macedonia. The venue has not yet been announced.
To reach the final part of the Euro-2024, Ukraine must take first or second place in qualification group C.
