New UK Ambassador starts work in Ukraine
New UK Ambassador Martin Harris has begun his work in Ukraine and presented copies of his credentials to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

Details: The embassy said that on 11 September, Harris handed over copies of his credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis.

Melinda Simmons completed her four-year diplomatic mission in Ukraine on 1 September. Before leaving, she recorded a farewell in Ukrainian.
Her post of UK Ambassador to Ukraine was taken up by Martin Harris.
Harris had worked in Ukraine in 2003-2008 as Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General.
In 2010-2014, he worked as Ambassador to Romania, and in 2014-2017, he was Deputy Head of Mission in Moscow. For the past five years, Harris had been the head of the Directorate for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the British Foreign Office.
Earlier, several other ambassadors of G7 countries have recently changed. In particular, the new ambassadors of France and Germany arrived in Ukraine earlier.
Canadian Ambassador Larisa Galadza has completed her mission and will be replaced by Natalka Cmoc.
