US State Secretary discusses grain deal with his Turkish counterpart

Details: The report says the US Secretary of State thanked Türkiye for "its leadership in the Black Sea Grain Initiative and noted the urgent need to address the Kremlin’s inhumane use of food as a weapon of war".
Among other things, Miller said, Blinken spoke with Hakan Fidan "to underscore the importance of Armenia-Azerbaijan peace discussions".
Quote: "The Secretary also thanked Türkiye for its commitment to send Sweden’s NATO accession protocol to the Turkish parliament for ratification," Miller summarised.
Background: On 17 July, Russia announced the halt of the grain deal and threatened "risks" to parties willing to continue the initiative without Russia's participation.
Afterwards, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Türkiye, said he believed in the possibility of continuing the Black Sea Grain Initiative nitiative after his talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On August 2, Erdoğan and Putin had a telephone conversation to discuss the grain deal and the Russian president's visit to Turkey.
