Explosions rock Khmelnytskyi Oblast: air defence forces responding

Multiple explosions occurred in the city of Khmelnytskyi and Khmelnytskyi Oblast on the night of 6 August, with air defence forces responding to the threat.

Details: Suspilne reported that the sounds of explosions occurred in Khmelnytskyi around 01:00.

At around 01:25, the broadcaster said the blasts were heard in Khmelnytskyi Oblast.

The Khmelnytskyi Oblast Military Administration confirmed the information regarding multiple explosions in the oblast. They noted that air defence systems were responding.

Shortly before that, the Ukrainian Air Force issued a warning over the threat of deployment of Shahed attack UAVs in Khmelnytskyi Oblast.

Background: On the evening of 5 August, explosions rocked Khmelnytskyi and Zhytomyr Oblast when the air-raid warning was in force. The Ukrainian Air Force said the Russian troops used Kinzhal hypersonic missiles.

On 5 August, a Russian missile attack hit one of the hromadas of Khmelnytskyi Oblast, severely damaging several residential buildings, a cultural institution, a bus station and a commercial building, with no casualties.
