Ukraine's Security Service chief gives advice on how to avoid further explosion of Russian ships
Vayl Maliuk, head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), has commented on the recent attacks by uncrewed surface vessels (USV) on the ships of the Russian Federation and advised Russians to leave the territorial waters of Ukraine in order to avoid further explosions.
Source: Maliuk quoted by the SSU
Quote: "Any ‘cotton’ that happens with the ships of the Russian Federation or the Crimean bridge is an absolutely logical and effective step in regards to the enemy. Moreover, such special operations are carried out in the territorial waters of Ukraine and are completely legal.
[Russian propaganda, initially refusing to use the word ‘vzryv’ (explosion), used ‘khlopok’ (a bang) instead. However, ‘khlopok’ also means ‘cotton’, and this has since become a meme – ed.]
So, if the Russians want the ‘cotton’ to stop, they should take advantage of their only opportunity – to leave the territorial waters of Ukraine and our land. And the sooner they do it, the better for them."
Details: The head of the SSU emphasised that Ukraine will win the war.
In his words, Maliuk did not directly recognise who was behind these explosions.
Earlier, the media reported that the Security Service of Ukraine carried out a special operation leading to an explosion of a large Russian oil tanker SIG.
Background:
- A Russian chemical tanker SIG was damaged in the Kerch Strait due to an unmanned surface vessel (USV) attack on the evening of 4 August, with emergency workers from Novorossiysk, Russia, being sent to help the tanker.
- Two tugboats arrived in the Kerch Strait to tow the ship.
- There was no fuel spill from the tanker, according to Russian media.
- The attacked tanker suffered a breach in the area of the engine room.
