Zelenskyy offers his condolences to Georgia over tragedy in resort village
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has offered his condolences over lives lost in the landslide in the Georgian resort village of Shovi.

"I offer my sincerest condolences to the Georgian people in connection with the natural disaster that claimed people's lives. We sympathise with the families and friends of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to all those affected by the landslide in the highland region of Racha," the president tweeted.
The head of state posted tweets in both Ukrainian and Georgian.

There was a landslide near the resort village of Shovi, Georgia, the day before. Power lines were damaged in the region, roads and bridges were destroyed, and communication is unstable.
As of now, 11 deaths are officially known about. Rescue workers and the military continue to search for missing people.
7 August was declared a day of mourning in Georgia.
