Helicopter crash near Kramatorsk: investigation launched
The State Bureau of Investigation has launched an investigation into the crash of two MI-8 military helicopters in Donetsk Oblast that killed six servicemen. Special attention is being paid to studying the technical condition of the helicopters and compliance with the rules of flight preparation. The possibility of sabotage or destruction of the helicopters by the Russians will also be investigated.

Details: According to the investigation, on 29 August, Mi-8 military helicopters crashed in Kramatorsk district of Donetsk Oblast. The aircraft were completely destroyed.
Six servicemen – the crew of the aircraft – were killed.
Proceedings have been initiated over the crash of the two helicopters in Donetsk Oblast. The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is carried out by the State Bureau of Investigation.
Preliminary classification of the offence: violation of flight rules or preparation for them (Article 416 of the Criminal Code).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 15 years.
