Details: The General Staff said a requirement is being introduced which would mean that payment for utility services, internet and mobile phone bills is impossible without Russian citizenship, a move which intensifies forced passportisation.
"An increase in the number of Chechen servicemen, brought in to intensify the pressure on the local population in this area, has been spotted. They behave quite aggressively and take a tough attitude regarding curfew violations by the local population," the General Staff said.
The General Staff also said the Russian occupiers plan to hold so-called elections in a mixed format in one of the temporarily occupied settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. This will take the form of "show" voting at polling stations and door-to-door voting.
"They want to start visiting houses in advance. Representatives of the occupation authorities will start going door-to-door to collect votes starting from 30 August this year. In addition, there are people in the area brought in from Russian Federation territory by the Russian authorities and resettled in the abandoned houses of local residents. Such actions show the occupiers are preparing for vote falsification and creating the right image for the Russian media," Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported.
