Details: Ukrainian Defence Intelligence confirmed that special forces on watercraft landed at night on the shore near the settlements of Olenivka and Maiak.

Quote: "While performing the task, the Ukrainian defenders entered into combat contact with the occupier's units. As a result, the enemy suffered losses among its personnel and enemy equipment was destroyed. In addition, the state flag was once again hosted in Ukrainian Crimea.

All goals and tasks are completed. At the end of the special operation, Ukrainian defenders left the scene without losses."

Details: The Main Directorate of Intelligence notes that the occupation administration of Crimea has made no comment on the events, despite mass appeals by local residents. Their only message to the public speaks of alleged "destruction of ammunition as per the set schedule"

Quote: "Ukrainian forces will continue to assist the invaders in the destruction of ammunition, equipment and manpower."

Background:

  • Krym.Realii (Crimea.Realities, a project by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty), citing residents and intelligence sources, reported that a battle involving watercraft and aircraft took place in the morning at Cape Tarkhankut in occupied Crimea. According to media reports, the battle took place near the settlement of Mayak.
  • Telegram channel Baza claims that people staying at the campsite in Olenivka, located near Mayak, heard two loud shots. When people went out to see who was shooting, they saw two rubber boats with about 10 people on board about 10 metres from the shore. Then several more shots were heard, but this time from automatic weapons. The people from the boats started to swim away.
  • Later, Ukrainian Defence Intelligence confirmed that Ukrainian intelligence units had disembarked on the peninsula as part of a special operation on the morning of 24 August.
