Details: It was previously reported that the Netherlands has not yet decided on the number of F-16s it is ready to transfer to Ukraine.
At the same time, Zelenskyy notes that during his visit to the Netherlands on Sunday, he agreed with Prime Minister Mark Rutte that "we can count on 42 planes; he doesn't have any more".
"We (Ukrainian pilots - ed.) will be training on eighteen of them. And when we finish the training, we can get these 18. We can get the rest as soon as the pilots are ready," the president added.
Recalling the agreement to receive 19 F-16s from Denmark, Zelenskyy emphasised that this is a "very serious number of aircraft".
"I will say frankly: when we were preparing all these meetings and talking with partners, we counted on at least 12," he said.
Background:
Ukrainian pilots have already started training on F-16 fighters in Denmark.
Over the weekend, Denmark and the Netherlands announced their decision to hand over the aircraft to Kyiv after the training is completed.
