Russians try to retake positions near liberated Urozhaine – General Staff report
The Russians conducted several offensive actions on 18 August, to no avail, and attempted to retake positions near the liberated village of Urozhaine in Donetsk Oblast. A total of 30 combat encounters took place during the day.

Quote: "The Defence Forces of Ukraine continue their offensive operation on the Melitopol and Berdiansk fronts, gaining foothold on achieved borders and conducting counterbattery measures.
The Air Force of the Defence Forces launched nine attacks on areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment of the Russians.
Ukrainian Rocket Forces and Artillery struck two areas of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, four artillery systems on firing positions, two control points and two means of radioelectric warfare of the Russians during the day."
Details: Since the beginning of the day, the Russians have launched 1 missile attack, 31 airstrikes and 45 attacks from multiple-launch rocket systems on positions of Ukrainian forces and settlements.
Civilians were killed and injured in the Russian attacks.
Residential buildings and other civil infrastructure were damaged.
On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, the Russians launched airstrikes near the settlements of Chervona Zoria and Veterynarne in Kharkiv Oblast. Over 20 settlements were struck with mortar and artillery attacks.
On the Kupiansk front, the Russians conducted offensive actions near the settlements of Synkivka in Kharkiv Oblast but to no avail. Settlements were attacked with artillery and mortars.
On the Lyman front, the Russians were conducting unsuccessful offensive actions near the settlement of Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast. Airstrikes were launched near the settlements of Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast and Spirne in Donetsk Oblast.
Nearly 10 settlements were under Russian artillery fire.
On the Bakhmut front, the Russians were conducting offensive actions to the northeast of the settlement of Orikhovo-Vasylivka in Donetsk Oblast but to no avail. The occupiers launched artillery attacks near the settlements of Klishchiivka and Andriivka in Donetsk Oblast.
Over 15 settlements were attacked by the Russian artillery.
On the Avdiivka front, the Russians conducted unsuccessful offensive actions to the southeast and to the east of the settlement of Novokalynova in Donetsk Oblast. Over 10 settlements were attacked by the Russian artillery.
On the Marinka front, the Defence Forces continue to deter the Russian offensive near the settlements of Marinka and Krasnohorivka in Donetsk Oblast.
The Russians launched an airstrike near the settlement of Krasnohorivka in Donetsk Oblast.
The settlements of Krasnohorivka, Pobieda, Kostiantynivka, Halytsynivka, Katerynivka in Donetsk Oblast were attacked by the Russian artillery.
On the Shakhtarsk front, the Russians attempted to retake the positions near the settlement of Urozhaine in Donetsk Oblast but to no avail. An airstrike was launched near the settlement of Staromaiorske.
Over 10 settlements in Donetsk Oblast were attacked from artillery.
On the Zaporizhzhia front, the Russians launched an artillery attack near the settlement of Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Over 15 settlements came under Russian artillery fire.
On the Kherson front, over 10 settlements were attacked by the Russian artillery.
