Russian Embassy illustrates "common values" with Ukraine with photo of anti-war march

The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Africa has written on Twitter that previously, Russia and Ukraine used to be united by "common values" and a "desire for peace". At the same time, the embassy illustrated its post with a photo from the anti-war march that took place in Moscow in 2014.

Details: The Russian Embassy in South Africa tweeted that "before George Soros and the US State Department spent billions of dollars nurturing Nazism and ultra-nationalism in Ukraine, our countries were united by common values, religion, traditions, the desire for peace, friendship and harmony".

Meduza noted that the Russian embassy used an AFP photo from the march against the war in Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea, which took place in Moscow on 15 March 2014, to illustrate the post.

"In the general photo, you can see two banners held at the front of the march - 'Putin, stop lying, fighting and stealing' and 'Hands off Ukraine.'" One of those leading the march is politician Boris Nemtsov, who in less than a year would be killed on the Bolshoi Moskvoretskiy Bridge," the publication writes.
