He recruited women for prostitution in Israel: Ukrainian police shuts down human trafficking scheme

The National Police of Ukraine (NPU) in Kyiv Oblast has detained a man exploiting the vulnerable state of Ukrainian women and their desperate need for money to recruit them for prostitution in Israel.

Details: The NPU said the organiser, a man, 41, posted ads on Telegram channels targeting Ukrainian women aged 18 to 35 to engage them in prostitution in Israel.

The daily income amounted to over US$1,500. The offender also assisted in paperwork for travelling abroad.

Quote: "Officers of the Migration Police Department at one of the border checkpoints in Lviv Oblast have prevented a Ukrainian citizen from being trafficked with intent of providing sexual services.

The police executed three authorised searches resulting in the seizure of cash, bank cards, notebooks with drafts and other evidence."

Details: The man was served with a notice of suspicion over human trafficking. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
