Details: The authorities in Kazakhstan had previously given the channel, which is linked to Russian oligarch Konstantin Malofeev, four warnings about extremist propaganda.
The channel received its first warning in January 2021 for a report entitled "Does Kazakhstan want to bring Russians to their knees?"
Tsargrad’s other three warnings were issued on 31 May 2023 – for an article headlined "Kazakh nationalists terrorise Russian women" and a news item in which the offensive word "mambet" is used to refer to a resident of Kazakhstan.
For reference: According to The Moscow Times, Malofeev, who owns the TV channel, openly supports the war started by Putin in Ukraine. The oligarch has been sanctioned by the US, the EU and Canada since 2014.
