Details: The SSU has collected evidence against another pro-Russian propagandist who publicly denied the armed aggression of the Russian Federation and provoked religious hatred.
The woman was an active protester against the eviction of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (of the Moscow Patriarchate) (UOC-MP) from the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, as well as the transition of the UOC-MP parishes to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
The defendant participated in provocations at the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra late in March and early in April 2023.
She arranged live streams on social networks, inciting people to resist the legitimate actions of law enforcement officers and insulting the religious feelings of Ukrainians, the SSU notes.
In addition, the defendant denied the existence of Russian armed aggression and called the war in Ukraine an "internal civil conflict" on her Facebook page.
She also posted her "predictions" about the "inevitability" of the seizure of the entire territory of Ukraine, trying to discredit Ukrainian defenders on social networks.
The destructive content was subsequently picked up by Russian TV channels and internet resources, which presented the distorted information as being the position of ordinary Ukrainian citizens.
A linguistic examination initiated by the SSU confirmed that the woman had conducted subversive actions in favour of Russia.
Computer equipment that she used in criminal actions during a search of her place of residence in Kyiv has been seized.
Based on the evidence collected, the Security Service investigators have served the woman with a notice of suspicion under Article 436-2.2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (production, and distribution of materials that contain objections to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, expressed in presenting it as an internal civil conflict).
The issue of additional qualification of criminal actions of the person involved and the choice of pre-trial detention for her is being resolved.
An investigation is underway to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
The offender faces a prison sentence with confiscation of property.
The SSU officers carried out the appropriate measures in Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv regional prosecutor's office.
