Quote: "The 22nd Separate Mechanised Brigade is defeating the Russians with a 2S-1 Hvozdyka self-propelled artillery system. Aerial reconnaissance discovered one of the strongholds belonging to the occupiers, who tried to disguise their positions in a strip of forest. However, the gunners had already received the coordinates. A few minutes passed, and accurate shots sent the Russians to Kobzon's concert [a reference to late Iosif Kobzon, pro-Kremlin singer; "to go to Kobzon's concert" means "to get killed" - ed.]."
Background:
- General Colonel Oleksandr Syrskyi has arrived at a camp of the units of the defence forces of Ukraine deployed on the Kupiansk front due to the escalation of the combat situation. Important decisions have been made to strengthen the Ukrainian defences.
- In an interview with the Ukrainian service of the BBC, Syrskyi stated that all conditions have been created to retake Bakhmut, but it must be done with significantly fewer losses than the Russians suffered to capture the city.
