Russia loses more than 256,000 soldiers in total

Russia continues to suffer losses in the war against Ukraine: over the past day alone, the defence forces killed about 480 invaders and destroyed 24 Russian drones, 18 armoured combat vehicles and 17 artillery systems.

Details: The total combat losses of the Russian forces from 24 February 2022 to 17 August 2023 are estimated to be as follows (figures in parentheses represent the latest losses – ed.):

• approximately 256,050 (+480) military personnel
• 4,329 (+5) tanks
• 8,398 (+18) armoured combat vehicles
• 5,169 (+17) artillery systems
• 714 (+0) multiple-launch rocket systems
• 486 (+1) air defence systems
• 315 (+0) fixed-wing aircraft
• 314 (+0) helicopters
• 4,272 (+24) tactical UAVs
• 1,406 (+2) cruise missiles
• 18 (+0) ships/boats
• 7,641 (+27) vehicles and tankers
• 773 (+0) special vehicles and other equipment
