Quote: "France strongly condemns the new Russian attacks which today targeted Kherson Oblast in the south of Ukraine," the statement said.

"These new attacks on civilians once again illustrate Russia's complete disregard for all the principles of international humanitarian law, which it grossly and repeatedly violates," the French Foreign Ministry emphasised.

The French Foreign Ministry stressed that these unacceptable actions are war crimes and cannot go unpunished.

In close coordination with its partners, France will continue to provide military support to Ukraine to strengthen its air defence capacity, as well as support to Ukrainian courts and the International Criminal Court to fight impunity for such crimes, the French Foreign Ministry stated.

Russian forces fired on Kherson Oblast on the morning of 13 August, killing five adults, a 12-year-old boy and a 23-day-old baby.

Later, the Russians attacked Kherson Oblast once again, dropping explosives from UAVs and launching attacks on the city of Kherson. Three civilians were injured in the attack.

Also, a 61-year-old man was injured in an attack on the village of Novokairy, Kherson Oblast.
