Details: Meduza stated that Belgorod Telegram channels, citing eyewitnesses, reported that the sound of an explosion was heard on Yesenin Street. Photographs show the damaged facade of a high-rise building. The same sources also reported that a car had been damaged.

"An eyewitness reports that he saw an aircraft-type drone flying overhead near Ulitka [a microdistrict], less than a metre in size. After that, an explosion was heard," Bletgorod, a local Belgorod Telegram channel, quoted the eyewitness as saying.

Russia’s Ministry of Defence reported three instances of downed drones in Belgorod Oblast on Sunday. However, the authorities have not yet commented on the situation regarding the explosion in Belgorod.

Baza, a Russian independent Telegram channel, also reported on the explosion in Belgorod.

"We don't know what exactly happened yet. Residents are posting photos of a damaged building and cars. Emergency services have arrived at the scene," Baza stated.

Update: Belgorod Oblast governor Vyacheslav Gladkov later said early reports indicate that tiles from the ventilated facade of building 1 on 9 Yesenin Street fell from the 12th to the 6th floors after an explosion at 17:43. There were no casualties.

The building's windows were smashed, air conditioning units were damaged, and the facade of the building was shattered. About 15 cars were damaged.

"As per the available information, the damage was caused by a UAV attack," Gladkov said.
