Zelenskyy noted that he warned Macron about "the preparation of dangerous provocations by the occupation forces at the Zaporizhzhia NPP," and added that he agreed to keep the situation "under maximum control together with the IAEA."
The leaders also discussed the "implementation of previous and reached new defence agreements" and the situation in Russia and on the battlefield.
"After Prigozhin's actions, the whole world saw that Russia has no room for manoeuvres on the battlefield. And for us, on the contrary, a window of opportunity is opening. We must act decisively – both militarily and politically. Therefore, it is very important that the summit in Vilnius be effective," the president added.
Background:
- Earlier on Tuesday, the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned fellow citizens that the Russians may soon start preparations for provocations at the Zaporizhzhia NPP, and placed explosive-like objects on the roofs of two power units.
- Russian propagandists have already announced that Ukraine is going to "attack the ZNPP using high-precision weapons and kamikaze drones" on the night of 5 July.
- The head of the NATO Military Committee, Rob Bauer, said that in the event of a Russian attack on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, its consequences would affect the whole world.
