Zelenskyy discusses situation on battlefield and latest events in Russia with Swedish Prime Minister
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has had a phone conversation with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

Details: The Ukrainian leader tweeted that the recent events in Russia are evidence of a fracture in Russian society and the weakness of the power vertical.

Details: He also thanked the head of the Swedish government for his country's effective six-month presidency in the EU Council and its intensive participation in drafting two sanctions packages against Russia.
"We agreed to coordinate efforts to bring NATO membership closer for Ukraine and Sweden," the Ukrainian president added.
He said they also discussed the pace of implementation of previous agreements on defence support from Sweden, in which the Ukrainian president outlined the country's further needs, in particular concerning the boosting of air defence.
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson is expected to visit Washington on 5 July for talks with US President Joe Biden on the country's NATO membership bid, transatlantic security ties and Russia's war against Ukraine.
