Over 40 combat clashes between Ukraine's defenders and Russian forces in one day – General Staff report

There have been over 40 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defence Forces and the Russian army on four fronts over the past day.

According to confirmed information, during the past day, the Russian occupiers deployed three S-300 guided anti-aircraft missiles and 20 Iranian-made Shahed attack drones, attacking civilian infrastructure facilities in Sumy, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

As a result of an air battle, our soldiers destroyed 16 Shahed attack drones.

In total, Russian forces conducted 56 airstrikes and deployed multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) in more than 77 further attacks on positions of Ukrainian troops and on civilian settlements. Unfortunately, there are casualties among the civilian population and destruction and damage to civilian infrastructure, high-rise and private residential buildings.

The probability of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains high.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka fronts, and heavy fighting continues. There were over 40 combat clashes over the last day."

Details: The operational situation on the Volyn and Polissia fronts remains much the same as before.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, Russian forces conducted airstrikes on the city of Sumy and areas in the vicinity of Katerynivka in Sumy Oblast. They also deployed mortars and artillery to fire on more than 10 civilian settlements, including Bachivsk, Khodyne and Katerynivka in Sumy Oblast; and Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan and Budarky in Kharkiv Oblast.

Russian forces actively carried out airstrikes on the Kupiansk and Lymansk fronts. At the same time, our defenders successfully repelled seven Russian attacks in the areas south of Novoselivske, Novovodiane, west of Dibrova in Luhansk Oblast, northeast of Serebrianka Forest and near Vesele in Donetsk Oblast. Over 15 settlements, in particular Petro-Ivanivka, Novomlynsk and Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast; Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast; and Verkhnokamianske, Berestove and Rozdolivka in Donetsk Oblast, came under Russian artillery and mortar attacks.

On the Bakhmut front, under heavy fire from Russian aviation and artillery, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled nine Russian attacks in the areas of Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, west of Yahidne, Ivanivske and southeast of Bila Hora in Donetsk Oblast. Over 15 settlements, including Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka, Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Predtechyne and Klishchiivka in Donetsk Oblast, were affected by Russian artillery shelling.

On the Avdiivka front, Russian forces also shelled over 10 civilian settlements. Keramik, Avdiivka, Sieverne, Vodiane and Nevelske in Donetsk Oblast suffered in these attacks.

Despite Russian airstrikes and shelling on the Marinka front, Ukraine’s Defence Forces repelled 15 Russian assaults in the vicinity of Marinka. The Russians shelled more than 15 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Maksymilianivka, Hostre and Pobieda in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk front, Russian forces made unsuccessful offensive actions near Rivnopol in Donetsk Oblast and conducted an airstrike in the vicinity of Blahodatne. They also shelled over 10 settlements, including Blahodatne, Vuhledar, Bohoiavlenka, Shakhtarske and Zolota Nyva in Donetsk Oblast.

Russian forces on the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts are focusing their main efforts on preventing the advance of Ukrainian forces. They shelled over 30 civilian settlements, including Huliaipilske, Bilohiria and Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Marhanets and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast; and Antonivka in Kherson Oblast and the city of Kherson.

Over the past day, Ukrainian aircraft carried out 16 airstrikes on areas where Russian military personnel were concentrated. 

Units from Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery struck three anti-aircraft missile systems, two areas where Russian manpower was concentrated, 26 field artillery units and a Russian electronic warfare station.
