Defence forces advancing near Bakhmut and in south – Deputy Defence Minister

The defence forces are advancing on the southern flank around Bakhmut, as well as on the Berdiansk and Melitopol fronts.

[On the] northern flank, battles continue without changes in positions. The enemy is now charging additional forces and assets to the Bakhmut front."

Details: Maliar added that attacks continue in the city of Bakhmut from both sides. The Russians are firing intensively from large-calibre machine guns and ATGMs, and they deployed a surveillance system.

Commenting on the situation in the south, the Deputy Minister noted that on Saturday, the Defence Forces are "gradually but surely" advancing on the Berdiansk and Melitopol fronts.

"Battles are ongoing on all fronts of the offensive. Our defenders are doing their work around several settlements. But all the details will come when the security of operations allows," she said.

Maliar also said that the Russians are active on the Kupiansk and Lyman fronts. On Saturday, they made several attempts to advance but failed and suffered losses.

Fighting continues on the Avdiivka front. The Russians unsuccessfully try to advance, but the Ukrainian defenders "don't leave them a single chance."

On the Marinka front, the Russians increased assault operations with the use of equipment, but without success.

"Our defenders repelled all assaults and significantly reduced the enemy's offensive potential," Malyar added.
