Details: According to sources, initially the work involved mainly teenagers of 15-17 years of age. Now, students of all years are engaged in the assembly of drones. Those who are involved in the assembly of drones are forbidden from talking about what they do under the threat of expulsion.
In addition, underage female students from African countries, who are called "mulattoes" among the staff of the institution, are also exploited in the production of drones. They were lured into college using dating apps like Tinder and Badoo. The girls are engaged in work which requires the lowest qualification – mostly washing the floor and cleaning up the garbage in the workshops, investigators say.
It is reported that the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, opened the Alabuga Polytechnic college on 5 April 2021. The plan was that "future Russian Elon Musks" would be educated there. Teenagers who entered college were promised training combined with paid work.
From students, journalists learned about the tough living conditions in college. One of the prerequisites for learning is a game of paintball. Refusal to participate may result in reprimand or expulsion. In 2022, the games were held every weekend from September to October. Students were expected to wake up at five in the morning and reconstruct the battles of the Great Patriotic War. "An interesting detail – the flag of the Nazis is similar to the flag of Nazi Germany, but instead of a swastika in a white circle is the symbol of the NATO bloc," the journalists note.
Losing teams are punished by "shootings" – paintball balls are shot at them. In addition, the losers are forced to run and dig trenches in the rain, without weapons, to "storm" the heights from where employees shoot at them.
One of the sources said that he had heard from the Deputy Director General of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, Sergey Alekseev, that "the goal of paintball is to weed out weaklings and wimps at the initial stage".
