EU condemns Russia's attack on Odesa city centre
Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, has called Russia's latest strike, which severely damaged the historic centre of Odesa city, a war crime.

Quote: "Continuous Russian missile terror on UNESCO-protected Odesa constitutes yet another war crime by the Kremlin, demolishing also the main Orthodox Cathedral – a world heritage site," said Borrell, adding that hundreds of other historical monuments throughout Ukraine have also been affected.

Background: Russia again carried out a missile attack on Odesa on the night of 22-23 July. The Odesa Oblast Military Administration reported that six buildings were destroyed. The Transfiguration Cathedral, the largest cathedral in the city, has also been seriously damaged.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the Russian forces fired 19 missiles of various types, including five Oniks cruise missiles, on Odesa Oblast overnight on 22-23 July. Ukrainian air defence forces have shot down nine missiles.
