Russian Defence Ministry claims "terrorist attacks against Russia" were being prepared in Odesa

The Russian Defence Ministry has reported that at night they conducted strikes using "high-precision" weapons allegedly on facilities "where terrorist acts against the Russian Federation were being prepared with the use of unmanned boats".

Details: According to the Russian Defence Ministry, in Odesa city and its oblast, "terrorist acts against the Russian Federation were being prepared with the use of unmanned boats, as well as their production sites in Odesa Oblast".

In addition, the Russians as ever added that there were "foreign mercenaries" at the facilities.

Background: 

• The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the Russian forces fired 19 missiles of various types, including five Oniks cruise missiles, on Odesa Oblast overnight on 22-23 July. Ukrainian air defence forces have shot down nine missiles.
• As a result of a nighttime Russian missile attack on Odesa, six houses, two architectural monuments and a church were destroyed.
