Ukrainian defenders repel Russian attacks on two fronts – General Staff report

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have successfully repelled Russian attacks in the vicinity of Bohdanivka and Ivanivske in the Bakhmut sector and near Avdiivka.

Details: The Russians launched an airstrike during the past day, using Iranian-made Shahed attack drones. All five attack UAVs were downed by Ukrainian defenders as a result of their successful combat work.  

In addition, Russian forces launched 4 missile strikes, 58 airstrikes and attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements 81 times using multiple-launch rocket systems. There have been civilian casualties, and residential buildings and other infrastructure have been destroyed.

Russians are concentrating their main efforts on the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka fronts, where more than 40 combat engagements took place over the past day.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, Russian forces carried out an airstrike near Veterynarne in Kharkiv Oblast. They launched mortar and artillery attacks on more than 15 settlements, damaging, in particular, Tymonovychi (Chernihiv Oblast); Seredyna-Buda, Uhroidy and Riasne (Sumy Oblast) and Kozacha Lopan, Strilecha, Ternova and Budarky (Kharkiv Oblast).

Ukrainian forces are firmly holding the line on the Kupiansk front. Kamiansk, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupiansk and Kyslivka (Kharkiv Oblast) came under Russian artillery and mortar fire. 

On the Lyman front, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the area of Nadiia (Luhansk Oblast), and Torske and Hryhorivka (Donetsk Oblast). Russians carried out airstrikes in the area of Serebrianka Forest and Spirne. The settlements of Nevske and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast) and Torske, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne and Rozdolivka (Donetsk Oblast) were hit by artillery fire. 

On the Bakhmut front, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled all Russian attacks near Bohdanivka and Ivanivske (Donetsk Oblast). More than 10 settlements, including Vasiukivka, Markove, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Kostiantynivka, Druzhba and New-York (Donetsk Oblast) were bombarded. 

On the Avdiivka front, the Defence Forces repelled all the attacks near Avdiivka (Donetsk Oblast). The Russians carried out an airstrike near Sieverne (Donetsk Oblast), and deployed artillery to attack more than 10 civilian settlements, including Avdiivka, Pervomaiske and Nevelske (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Marinka front, Ukrainian forces continued to hold back an offensive by Russian troops in the area of Marinka and Krasnohorivka. The Russians carried out an airstrike Krasnohorivka. They attacked more than 10 civilian settlements, including Maksymilianivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka and Pobieda (Donetsk Oblast).

On the Shakhtarsk front, Russian forces carried out unsuccessful offensive operations near Novomykhailivka. Russians carried out airstrikes near Blahodatne and Makarivka. They also bombarded more than 10 settlements, including Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, Vuhledar and Blahodatne in Donetsk Oblast.

Russian forces on the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts are focusing their efforts on preventing Ukrainian forces from advancing. They made unsuccessful attempts to regain their lost position in the area south of Novodarivka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast. They carried out airstrikes in and around Huliaipilske, Mala Tokmachka, Nividanylivka and Piatykhatky (Zaporizhzhia Oblast). More than 25 settlements, including Novodarivka, Huliaipole, Huliaipilske, Novoandriivka, Stepove and Kamianske (Zaporizhzhia Oblast); Nikopol (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast); Zolota Balka, Dudchany, Beryslav, Antonivka, Bilozerka, Veletenske, and Kherson (Kherson Oblast) came under fire.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Defence Forces continued to conduct offensive operations on the Melitopol and Berdiansk fronts, where they are consolidating the positions they had previously captured.

Over the course of the day, Ukrainian aircraft carried out 12 airstrikes on areas where Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated. The defenders also destroyed four reconnaissance operational-tactical UAVs. 

Units from Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery struck 21 field artillery units, an anti-aircraft missile system and one more important facility.
