Arvydas Anušauskas, Defence Minister of Lithuania, believes that the appearance of Wagner Group mercenaries in Belarus does not fundamentally change the security situation in the region.

Details: The Lithuanian minister commented on information from observers, according to whom the Wagner mercenaries, numbering at least 60 different vehicles, have arrived at the camp in Belarus in recent days.
Quote: "I would not call them units, I would call them groups that are transferred to Belarus without weapons, ammunition and logistics, their number is small. This does not fundamentally change the situation in the region, which has become more complicated since the beginning of Russia's aggression against Ukraine."
Details: He also added that despite the appearance of the mercenaries of the Wagner Private Military Company, the Russian military presence in Belarus was reduced, since the soldiers who had been pulled together for exercises some time ago have returned to Russia.
The minister noted that now the mercenaries should not cause serious concern to Lithuania.
