Situation escalates on eastern fronts

Ukraine’s Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar has said that the situation on the eastern front has escalated.

Quote from Maliar: "For two days in a row, the enemy has been actively advancing on the Kupiansk front in Kharkiv Oblast. We are on the defensive. There are fierce battles going on, and the positions of the parties are changing dynamically several times a day.

We are gradually moving forward on the Bakhmut front. There is a daily advance on the southern flank around Bakhmut.

On the northern flank there, we are trying to hold our positions, but the enemy is attacking.

In Bakhmut itself, we are attacking the enemy, the enemy is attacking us."

Details: Maliar has added that on the Avdiivka and Marinka fronts, the Russians continue to carry out offensive operations, but the frontline is not moving.
