Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that while the results of the North Atlantic alliance’s Vilnius summit are not perfect for Ukraine, they are good.

Quote: "We discussed our expectations of the NATO summit. The important result is that Ukraine does not need a Membership Action Plan on this path. And I thank you for these important steps. I know how many different conversations and agreements there were because of this (...).
The summit's results are good, but they would be perfect if there was an invitation."

Zelenskyy added that Ukraine has been offered security guarantees on the way to NATO, but not as a substitute for membership of the Alliance.
The president also noted that there is "very positive news regarding new defence support packages" from Ukraine’s partners: "On the sidelines of the summit, we have already started these meetings and have such agreements. I thank each of the leaders who offered us these packages."
Note: The G7 plans to announce long-term security guarantees for Ukraine, which are being called a step towards ending the current phase of the war.
The NATO summit agreed to remove the Membership Action Plan requirement on Ukraine’s path to joining the Alliance.
At the same time, the Allies made it clear that they will invite Ukraine to join NATO "when the conditions are met", but not now.
