Russia threatens to "react" to Ukraine joining NATO

The Kremlin has repeatedly claimed that Ukraine's accession to NATO would pose a threat to Russia and would require a response.

Details: Peskov alleged that Kyiv is trying to "put pressure" on NATO countries to show solidarity.

- Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said on 10 July that following a discussion, NATO member states have agreed to waive the Membership Action Plan for Ukraine's accession to the Alliance.
- Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister Olha Stefanishyna has added that the entire eastern flank of NATO, as well as a number of Western European countries, are now in favour of inviting Ukraine to join.
- She also believes that NATO can invite Ukraine to join even while the war is on, and to complete the process when circumstances allow.
