Details: The Russian Federation is almost certainly experiencing problems with providing assistance to those injured on the battlefield, with the average losses per day amounting to about 440 people over the last 17 months, according to the intelligence report. [It is important to note that the word casualties can include killed and wounded, therefore it is not known whether this estimate includes only those wounded or total losses - ed.]
Quote: "The influx of military casualties has likely undermined the normal provision of some Russian civilian medical services, especially in border regions near Ukraine. It is likely that many dedicated military hospitals are being reserved for officer casualties," the update says.
Details: The report also mentions statements by the Head of the Kalashnikov combat medicine training division that probably 50% of the deaths of the Russian military on the battlefield could have been prevented if the wounded had received proper first aid.
Quote: "Very slow casualty evacuation, combined with the inappropriate use of the crude in-service Russian combat tourniquet, is reportedly a leading cause of preventable fatalities and amputations " the intelligence report says.
Background: In a previous update, UK Defence Intelligence analysed the coverage of the armed rebellion by Wagner's mercenaries by Russian state-owned media.
