Lithuanian Defence Minister in Kyiv presents plan to support Ukraine's Armed Forces

Lithuanian Defence Minister Arvydas Anušauskas visited Ukraine on Friday, 30 June, there he presented to his Ukrainian colleague Oleksii Reznikov a long-term plan to support the Ukrainian army, as well as informed about the latest aid package.

Quote: "We do understand that only long-term military and financial support to Ukraine will bring stability to a free Europe. That is why we have prepared a three-year plan to support Ukraine’s army," Anušauskas said.

Details: According to him, the three main goals are: to make every effort to ensure continuous supply of military support to the Ukrainian army; ensure the rehabilitation of wounded Ukrainian soldiers; to continue consultations on defence reforms initiated before the war to bring Ukraine closer to NATO membership.

Defence ministers of Lithuania and Ukraine also discussed preparations for the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius and Ukraine's progress in reforming the military training system.

Background: Previously, it was reported that Lithuania had announced its decision to buy two NASAMS launch systems for Ukraine.
