German Chancellor on Russian frozen assets: no one knows what is happening

Olaf Scholz, Chancellor of Germany, said it would be difficult to use Russian frozen assets.

Quote: "It's very difficult. At the moment, no one knows what is happening at all," Scholz admitted at the end of the EU summit in Brussels.

Earlier it was reported that Germany has spoken out against the European Commission's plan to give Ukraine profits from Russia's frozen assets, saying that a hasty step could entail legal or financial risks.

Previously, the European Union concluded that the lawful confiscation of assets of the Russian Central Bank for the reconstruction of Ukraine was not possible.
