Orbán "does not see" Russia's failures in war against Ukraine
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has claimed he is not aware of Ukraine's advances and Russia's failures in the war and has complained that the EU is spending too much money on supporting Ukraine, which could be used in the interests of Hungarian or Polish citizens.

Details: Orbán referred to the economic and financial situation of Hungary and the European Union, and in this context, he again raised the topic of the Russo-Ukrainian war and assistance to Ukraine.
The Hungarian Prime Minister claims that the EU has made the wrong decision to support Ukraine in the war "to make sure that Russia is defeated".
"A year and a half have passed, and the result is zero, even negative. We have not defeated Russia, the political leadership of the Russian Federation is in office, and the Russian economy is doing very well thanks to it. And we, on the contrary, are suffering from inflation and no longer have money to support Ukrainians," Orbán said.
Alongside this quote, the media outlet mentioned that the prime minister had ignored the Wagner Group’s rebellion last weekend and that Russia's energy revenues would be significantly lower this year, with Moscow having failed in its goals for Ukraine in the first months of the war.
Orbán says the situation will not change unless the EU changes its approach and peace talks are necessary, otherwise, "many more people will die".
"There is no more money in the EU budget. Where is this money? I think we know the answer, it's somewhere in Ukraine. Where is the money of the Hungarians, where is the money of the Poles? I'm afraid it's in Ukraine. They are giving it to a war that should not have happened," Orbán lamented, omitting to mention that Russia had invaded Ukraine. He also questioned whether European funds are being spent in Ukraine for the purpose for which they were provided.
Background: The Hungarian prime minister has also recently claimed that Ukraine is "no longer sovereign" because it is too dependent on Western aid and called the Wagner Group’s rebellion in Russia an event that "does not matter".
