Russians use aviation to advance on Avdiivka front – General Staff report

The Russian forces have used aviation over the course of the past 24 hours to advance on the Avdiivka front, but their attempts were unsuccessful.

Details: During the past day, Russians fired six anti-aircraft guided missiles from an S-300 system at civilian infrastructure targets in the cities of Zaporizhzhia and Chuhuiv. In addition, Russians carried out 29 airstrikes and launched 60 attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems on Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas.

Russian forces continue to focus their main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut and Marinka fronts, and heavy fighting is ongoing, with a total of over 31 combat engagements occurring there during the day.

On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, Russians deployed mortars and artillery to attack more than 10 settlements, including Karpovychi, Tymonovychi and Leonivka in Chernihiv Oblast and Seredyna-Buda, Znob-Novhorodske, Kindrativka and Yunakivka in Sumy Oblast.

On the Kupiansk front, Russians launched an airstrike in the area of Kyslivka. Kyslivka and Berestove in Kharkiv Oblast came under Russian artillery and mortar fire. 

On the Lyman front, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near Rozdolivka and Bilohorivka in Donetsk Oblast. They launched airstrikes in the areas of Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast, and Lyman and Rozdolivka in Donetsk Oblast. More than five settlements, including Nevske, Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast and Verkhniomanianske and Rozdolivka in Donetsk Oblast came under Russian artillery fire. 

On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces made unsuccessful attempts to advance on Bakhmut. They launched airstrikes near Bila Hora and Dyliivka. More than 10 settlements, including Vasyukivka, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, and Ivanivske in Donetsk Oblast were affected by Russian artillery fire. 

On the Avdiivka front, Russians carried out unsuccessful offensive operations near Avdiivka supported by aircraft. They carried out artillery shelling of more than five settlements, including Stepove, Avdiivka and Vodiane in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Marinka front, Ukraine’s defenders repelled all Russian attacks in the area of Marinka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka. At the same time, Russian launched airstrikes near Krasnohorivka and Nevelske. More than 10 settlements, including Nevelske, Oleksandropil, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, Peremoha, and Parskoviivka in Donetsk Oblast were affected by Russian artillery fire. 

On the Shakhtarsk front, Russian forces conducted unsuccessful offensive actions toward Novomykhailivka. Airstrikes were carried out near Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, Makarivka, and Rivnopil in Donetsk Oblast. More than 10 settlements were attacked, including Novomykhailivka, Prechystivka, Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, and Blahodatne in Donetsk Oblast.

Russian forces on the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson fronts are focusing their efforts on preventing the advance of Ukrainian forces. Russian troops conducted airstrikes near Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and Molodizhne, Inhulets, and Antonivka in Kherson Oblast. They bombarded more than 25 civilian settlements, including Poltavka, Huliaipole, Huliaipilske, Piatykhatky and Lobkove in Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Antonivka, Kherson, Dniprovske, Veletenske, Kizomys in Kherson Oblast, and Ochakiv in Mykolaiv Oblast.

Over the course of the past day, Ukrainian aircraft carried out 11 airstrikes on areas where Russian military personnel were concentrated. 

Units from Ukraine’s Rocket Forces and Artillery struck three Russian command posts, two clusters of Russian military personnel, an electronic warfare system, and 13 field artillery units at their firing positions.
