US national security adviser Jake Sullivan is to meet in Denmark with representatives of the Global South to discuss how to achieve a just peace in Ukraine.

This was stated at a briefing on Friday by John Kirby, Strategic Communications Coordinator of the White House National Security Council, European Pravda’s correspondent reports.

As Kirby noted, Biden's national security adviser and the entire White House team "work closely with the Ukrainians, whether it's talking to them about security assistance or this idea of a just peace and the principles behind that."

"And those conversations are ongoing, and we’ll continue to conduct them – not only with the Ukrainians, but with allies and partners alike," the White House official added, commenting on Sullivan's visit to Denmark.

Earlier, it became known that Sullivan, at the request of Ukraine, has agreed to take part in the meeting in Copenhagen with officials from countries that have not openly condemned Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Representatives of India, Brazil and South Africa, as well as Turkey and possibly China, may attend the meeting, but their list has not yet been finalised.

India, Brazil, China and South Africa, which are members of the BRICS group along with Russia, have refused to join Western sanctions against Moscow, providing varying degrees of support to the Kremlin since it invaded Ukraine.

It was reported earlier that German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock is to make a two-day visit to South Africa on Sunday, which will include talks on the war in Ukraine.
