Pentagon yet to see any unauthorised use of weapons provided to Ukraine
The US Department of Defence continues to monitor the Western weapons systems transferred to Ukraine and has not yet recorded any cases of their unauthorised circulation.
Source: Voice of America referring to Laura Cooper, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russian, Ukrainian, and Eurasian affairs.
Details: As Cooper told the US congressmen, the Pentagon currently has "no evidence of any illegal deviation in the use of US-provided advanced conventional weapons".
"Although Russia continues to spread disinformation about this," Cooper added.
Speaking about military support for Ukraine, Cooper stressed that not only the United States, but also more than 50 allies and partners provide assistance. In terms of GDP, the United States ranks 12th in the world among Kyiv's other partner countries.
Cooper also said that Ukraine is ready for the upcoming liberation of the Russian-occupied territory.
"Ukraine is well trained and equipped. Although the course of the war is dynamic and unpredictable, we have great confidence in the capabilities and readiness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," she said.
Background: Earlier this year, the US said that it had no evidence of misuse of US funds in Ukraine, but would continue to work closely with the Ukrainian authorities to ensure that relevant guarantees are in place to prevent corruption.
