New Montenegrin President promises to keep supporting Ukraine
At a meeting with the Ukrainian ambassador on 19 June, Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović promised to continue his country's support for Ukraine.

Details: In a conversation with Ukrainian Ambassador Oleh Herasymenko, Milatović has pointed out that Montenegro opened its doors to Ukrainian refugees, providing them with shelter, medical care and access to the labour market. "Montenegro will continue to support Ukraine as it has done so far," the Montenegrin president assured.

Milatović has emphasised that he received an invitation to visit Ukraine with "a desire to end the war in this country as soon as possible".
Background: Milatović, who represents the Europe Now movement, took the oath of office on 20 May and officially assumed the presidency.
The Europe Now movement, founded by the Montenegrin leader, has recently won the country's parliamentary elections.
